New York City: Alexander Wang doesn't seize to surprise us as he repeats "No After Party" through social media, leaving the crowds outside asking all attendees, "where is the after party?" A friend was even offered a bottle of lean in exchange for the address by a by passer, as we left the show. Little did they know that there really was no after party.
Wang made sure that the show itself was lit, with Dj Metro boomin spinning up to date tunes and even unreleased ones. Amongst some of the A-list Celebs, were Fetty Wap, Asap Ferg, Zoë Kravitz, Teyana Taylor, Sofia Richie and of course Kylie and Tyga who came to show love to Kendall and Bella.
Wang created the perfect killer leather pencil heels for this season. The boots had the correct amount of detail with metal studs around the border of the sole. Major points on the runway went to the closing look. A fishnet dress covered in metal fringe flared as Korean model Ez strutted down the runway.
As for location, Wang remains holding the title for most innovative because although the venue was out of the way, it was a beautiful sight to see. He took us on an adventure through history. In the taxi on the way to the show, we saw the heart of Harlem with its barbershops, bodegas and parks.
The entrance to the show was behind a black plastic bag curtain, which screams grunge. When walking into the show there it was, the runway in the center of an old abandoned theater. Particles of the ceiling fell as the show started, but the dust was just another perfect addition to the grunge scenery. The Hamilton heights theater, which is now a historic building came back to life in celebration of Alexander Wang's Fall/Winter 2017 collection and what a great celebration it was.
